Modern uPVC and composite fixtures require very little maintenance, but these simple habits will keep them looking pristine for years.
Cleaning Frames & Glass
Wash uPVC and composite surfaces with warm soapy water and a soft cloth twice a year. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or solvent-based chemicals.
Hardware Lubrication
Lightly lubricate hinges, locking points and sliding tracks annually using a light machine oil or silicone spray to ensure effortless opening.
Drainage Slots
Periodically check that the small external drainage slots at the bottom of window frames remain free from dirt and leaves.
Weather Seals
Inspect perimeter rubber gaskets to confirm they remain securely seated in their channels, preserving optimum draught exclusion.
